The 2018 BMW X1 will definitely continue to be one of the best compact luxury crossovers on the market. This model originally came nine years ago, in 2008. We already see a redesign and second generation is present since last year. So, if we consider that the second-generation model is still pretty fresh, it is pretty much for sure that the 2018 X1 will come without bigger changes. This small premium crossover has so much to offer. First of all, there are superb performances, but this is generally the main characteristics of all BMW models. Also, this model offers excellent interior design, which offers plenty of space, excellent materials, and so many advanced technologies. Since there won’t be some important changes for the next year, the 2018 BMW X1 should come in usual time, which is late in the year.
2018 BMW X1 features
As we already mentioned, the 2018 BMW X1 will come without bigger changes compared to the current model. This means that there will be plenty of standard equipment. Some of the features that come already in base model are 18-inch wheels, a power liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power front seats etc. When it comes to technology, there are things like 6.5-inch screen, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and a seven-speaker sound system with HD radio, a CD player, and a USB input. There are also several optional packages in the offer. One of them is Premium, which includes features like adaptive LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry etc. The Luxury package includes things like real leather upholstery and wood or aluminum trim, while the Technology package offers a larger 8.8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, and many other things.
2018 BMW X1 engine
For the North American market, 2018 BMW X1 will come with just one engine in the offer. It is 2.0-liter Turbo inline-four engine, which is good for about 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to either front or all wheels. The AWD model includes hill descent control. When it comes to performances, this crossover goes from 0 to 60 in just 6.5 seconds, while the average fuel economy goes around 26 miles per gallon.
2018 BMW X1 release date and price
The 2018 BMW X1 will come late in the year, with the base price around 35.000 dollars. Main competitors will be models like Lexus NX, Mercedes GLA, Infiniti QX30 etc.
