GM’s luxurious full-size SUV could receive some bigger changes for the next year. According to the several reports, the company prepares a mid-cycle update for 2018 Cadillac Escalade. This is one of the best-known models from this luxury brand. It originally came in 1999, and it competes to Lincoln Navigator for all these years. So far, we have seen four generations of it. The current model came in 2014, as the 2015 year model. Although company introduces some updates for every model year, 2018 Escalade will come with bigger ones. This could be a mid-cycle refresh, which will bring several novelties. This sounds very possible, especially if we consider that its main rival, Navigator, is coming completely new.
2018 Cadillac Escalade changes
The 2018 Cadillac Escalade could receive several new things. The current model is present since 2014, and next year could be a perfect time for a mid-cycle refresh. What this update could exactly bring, we don’t know. However, we can make some predictions. First of all, base characteristics will remain pretty much the same. This huge SUV will remain the same in mechanical aspect, sharing most of the parts with models like Suburban and Yukon. On the other side, we could see some visual updates. The 2018 Cadillac Escalade could receive some new details, especially at the front, where we can see some modification on a grille, tweaked headlights, new bumper and similar things. The rear end will probably come without modifications. When it comes to the interior, we could see some smaller changes on a dashboard, but biggest novelties will most likely come in terms of trim rearrangements.
2018 Cadillac Escalade engine
When it comes to powertrain, 2018 Cadillac Escalade will continue in the same manner. While some of the main competitors rely on efficient V6 units, this SUV comes with a large 6.2-liter V8 engine, which has a max output around 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Transmission is new 8-speed automatic, which came a few years ago as a replacement for an old 6-speed gearbox. With this amount of power, excellent performances are guaranteed. This huge SUV needs just 6.1 seconds for a 0-60 sprint. Estimated fuel economy is around 17 mpg in combined drive.
2018 Cadillac Escalade release date and price
We expect 2018 Cadillac Escalade to arrive somewhere at the end of a year. Base model should cost around 75.000 dollars.
