Since the new generation of this full-size SUV is still pretty fresh, it is pretty much for sure that 2018 GMC Yukon will come without bigger changes. This large luxury SUV is in production for more than 25 years. It originally came in 1991. So far we have seen four generations of it. The current generation is present since 2015. Once again, new model shares its mechanical characteristic with Chevy’s relative Tahoe. On the other side, it comes with its own signature look. Since it is only two years old, we don’t expect bigger changes. It will come with the same look, same mechanical characteristics. On the other side, we could see some updates in terms of standard features, but those changes won’t be so big. The 2018 Yukon should arrive somewhere late in the year.
2018 GMC Yukon redesign
As we already mentioned, 2018 GMC Yukon should come without bigger changes. The new model is still pretty fresh in all aspects, so there is no need for some bigger modifications. It will continue in the pretty much same manner, with same familiar exterior and interior design. When it comes to equipment, we will see the same three trim levels in an offer. The base SLE model comes with standard features like 18-inch wheels, three-zone automatic climate control, front bucket seats with a 10-way power driver seat, leather wrapped steering wheel, an 8-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera etc. The 2018 GMC Yukon SLT will add standard features like blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a 12-way power driver and front passenger seat, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats etc. Finally, there is a top-level Denali trim, with 20-inch wheels, xenon headlights, 10-speaker audio system and many others.
2018 GMC Yukon engine
When it comes to powertrain, we won’t see changes. The 2018 GMC Yukon will feature a familiar 5.3-liter V8 engine, which has a max output of 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and is good for about 19 mpg combined. The Denali trim comes with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, which has a max output of 420 horses and 460 pound-feet torque. This engine is good for about 17 mpg combined when it comes to fuel economy.
