After a bunch of teaser photos and videos that just increased the interest of the public, the Audi Q2 finally had a debut last year. Now officially unveiled, it can continue the life in the compact crossover class. The new 2019 Audi Q2 will also be an indicator of the direction of the German company’s design. This SUV is showing what we can expect from the upcoming models from other categories. The design language finally got a little change from what we used to in Q-series. Although there won’t be drastic changes, fans will see a new front-panel design. The suction holes on the bumper are large and slightly different we knew saw on initial Q2.
2019 Audi Q2 redesign
The 2019 Audi Q2 will keep proportions of its predecessor. So, the SUV is 165 inches long, 71 inches wide and 60 inches high. Its wheelbase is 102 inches long. Therefore, the cabin will probably have a little more space available than the first model of this brand name. The manufacturer claims that in terms of technical innovation and functionality, the Audi Q2 will be the rival to the most expensive Audi models. This means they will have the Stop & Go system, a bunch of sensors that monitor the events and status of the vehicle, and an advanced infotainment system with a large screen. Of course, ability to connect to the Internet and Wi-Fi hotspot function is standard for these vehicles.
2019 Audi Q2 drivetrains
At least six drivetrain units will be available for 2019 Audi Q2. The base model comes with a turbocharged petrol unit. Its displacement is 1.0-liter, and it uses the TFSI system. The larger are 1.4-liter and 2.0-liter TFSI units. Furthermore, we have diesel in the lineup for 2019 season. First of them is a 1.6-liter TDI. More powerful 2.0-liter TDI mill comes in two power levels. The output of these engines will go from 120 to 190 horses.
2019 Audi Q2 US release date
We already saw Q2 in Europe. But, in 2019 it will be a part of Audi’s offer in the US. The vehicle is definitely going overseas, and it is just a matter of time when it will debut. Nevertheless, the crossover will get a special treatment. No new engines will come for another market. Instead, the 2019 Audi Q2 will probably offer one or two existing petrol variants.
