Cadillac is developing few new models for the crossover segment. At this moment, there are only two luxury SUVs available for buyers. Escalade is top notch vehicle, while the 2019 Cadillac XT5 will be the base for the entire XT fleet in next season. Besides the abovementioned XT5, fans will see smaller crossovers, such as XT3, and also bigger, XT6 and Caddy XT7. All will have the same platform in common. That is the concept used already by the upcoming 2019 XT5. Changes on this model will be reflected on other SUVs.
2019 Cadillac XT5 engine
The 2019 Cadillac XT5 will inherit a 3.7-liter v-6 engine from its predecessor. This unit is powerful enough to produce 310 horses. Also, it is quite a fuel-friendly, while it also maintains quick acceleration. The XT5 will be able to reach 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. Power is routed through an 8-speed automatic transmission. It goes then to two or four wheels, depending on configuration. Also, 2019 Caddy XT5 could use a new 3.0-liter turbo-six drivetrain for upper trims. This one could be a choice for a V-Sport model.
2019 Cadillac XT5 redesign
With big changes coming for the crossover class, as its matrix, the 2019 Cadillac XT5 will suffer a big redesign. It will still hold the place in mid-size crossover utility vehicles, or so-called CUV. Nevertheless, big changes will include updates outside and inside the XT5. Cadillac will implement new safety and entertaining technologies. Also, new seating layout will provide more room. However, it will still be a 2-row 5-seat SUV. Outside, XT5 will get new lights, front and rear. Also, this model will get few more color options and trim levels with different packages.
2019 Cadillac XT5 launch date and price
The 2019 Cadillac XT5 will get a boost in value with new features and styling. That means buyers can expect a price of around $43,000 for the base model. However, we will know more when the new crossover sees the official announcement. Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum editions are also there at buyers’ choice. The top model will get a price tag of more than $65,000.
