If we can rely on the latest reports, the German carmaker is seriously considering the addition of another crossover to the lineup. This time, it’s about another compact SUV, in a coupe manner. Currently, the company from Ingolstadt offers one model of this kind. Of course, we are talking about the recently introduced Q8, which is a coupe version of the mid-size Q7 and a direct rival to the BMW X6. For this occasion, Audi will use the same formula, just in a smaller package. Therefore, the new 2020 Audi Q6 will be based on the compact Q5 crossover.
The two models would share mechanics and a big part of the exterior and interior design. According to the latest reports, the new model could arrive already in the next year.

2020 Audi Q6 Redesign
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is the exterior look of the 2020 Audi Q6. There’s no doubt we are about to see another coupe crossover in the offer. It will be compact in size, with a sloping roof design that gives that sportier, more aggressive stance. In terms of mechanics, the new model should be pretty much identical to the Q5. It will ride on the same platform and feature the same wheelbase. On the other side, we count on a little bit shorter rear overhang.
In terms of aesthetics, we presume that the front end would be largely the same as on the Q5. Simply, the compact crossover has been around for just a little bit more than a year, so we presume that there is no need for bigger changes at the moment. As we already mentioned, the most distinctive details of the 2020 Audi Q6 will be its sloping roof design, but we count on a couple of more details that would accentuate its sporty character.
Interior Design
When it comes to the cabin design, we really don’t expect to see any notable change, at least when it comes to the front row and dashboard design. Simply, the Q5 looks impressive. The dashboard is among most opulent in the class, thanks to attractive lines and plenty of advanced tech features, including the company’s famous Virtual Cockpit.

On the other side, things will be a little bit different at the other end. Due to a sloping roof and coupe layout, we presume that the second row will be a little bit tighter in terms of headroom. Also, the cargo area is expected to be notably smaller.
Features
When it comes to standard equipment, we expect the same level of opulence as in the Q5 model. That would mean a list of standard equipment that includes tech goodies like 7-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch color driver information display, voice command, a 10-speaker sound system, HD Radio, two USB ports, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. We expect higher trims with additions in terms of MMI All-In-Touch system, Wi-Fi Hotspot, a head-up display, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, satellite radio, navigation, a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, an 8.3-inch infotainment display etc.
When it comes to safety, we count on the essentials. Systems like rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear park assist, a 360-degree parking camera, a head-up display, and blind-spot monitoring will definitely be in the offer, either as standard features or options.
2020 Audi Q6 Engines
We don’t expect surprises in terms of powertrain. Base models should come with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. A performance version, under the SQ6 name, should be in the offer as well. This model would feature a familiar 3.0-liter V6 with a max output of around 350 horsepower. Both engines come in pair with 8-speed automatic transmission.
Those would be the engines for the U.S. market. On the other side, European drivers would also have a choice of diesel engines, both four- and six-cylinder units.

2020 Audi Q6 Release Date and Price
The 2020 Audi Q6 still waits for the official confirmation, although many reports suggest its arrival already in the next year. When it comes to the price, we presume that base models would go around 50.000 dollars.
