The current generation of this full-size SUV has been around for less than two years. It is still pretty fresh and most experts considering the best model in the class, so we don’t expect to see any important change for the next year. The last redesign has brought significant improvements in many aspects. Therefore, it’s not strange the Expedition is the segment leader in many aspects. It offers great ride quality, upscale cabin, loads of features and tremendous interior space. Therefore, the 2020 Ford Expedition is about to continue in the same way, with the familiar design and features. Eventually, we could see some minor updates in terms of new colors and standard features.

2020 Ford Expedition Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Ford Expedition definitely won’t change. We are about to see the same design that has been introduced a couple of years ago. This SUV rides on Ford’s revolutionary T3 platform, the same one that underprints F-150, as well as Lincoln Navigator. It utilizes lots of lightweight materials and generally ensures great driving characteristics and fuel efficiency.
Visually, bigger changes won’t come either. The 2020 Ford Expedition will continue with the same styling, which is pretty conventional, without any uncommon styling details. There are two versions in the offer. Standard models already measure pretty impressive 122.5 inches in wheelbase, while the long-wheelbase, Max version counts all-away up to 131.6 inches. Therefore, it’s no wonder that this is one of the most spacious SUVs you can find on the market.
One of the most amazing things about this SUV is independent rear suspension, which set some new standards in the class in terms of comfort and ride quality. We presume that all rivals will come with the same feature in the near future, starting from the upcoming next-generation Chevy Suburban, which is about to come next year.
As we already mentioned, the 2020 Ford Expedition will keep all these characteristics and the best we could see in terms of the exterior design are new color options.
Interior
From the inside, this SUV looks impressive in many ways. First of all, there is so much room in this model. Standard models are already very generous in terms of space, while the Expedition Max is really impressive. Three rows of seats are standard and even the third one feature plenty of legroom for adult passengers. Another super-strong point of the 2020 Ford Expedition will be its cargo space. Thanks to its wagon-like body, both versions are among the class leader in the segment.

In base models, you can count on about 21 cubic feet behind the third row, while the overall cargo capacity goes up to 105 cubic feet.
The 2020 Ford Expedition Max will be even more impressive, with 36 cubic feet behind the seats and overall capacity of more than 121.5 cubic feet.
Features
We could see a couple of new standard features for the 2020 Ford Expedition, but most things will remain untouched. Therefore, count that base models will come standard with things like cloth upholstery, four USB ports, Bluetooth, a six-speaker sound system, satellite radio, and a 4.2-inch display. Things are much better in higher trims, so you can get features like leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, heated steering wheel, massaging front seats etc. Also, there are tech goodies like 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation system, dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system, a 12-speaker audio system, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging etc.
When it comes to safety, rearview camera, rear parking sensors are standard in all models. Fortunately, higher trims offer much more, including advanced systems like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and many more.
2020 Ford Expedition Engine
This aspect of the 2020 Ford Expedition definitely won’t change. We are about to see the same 3.5-liter V6 under the hood, which in base versions delivers around 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims come with a more powerful version with impressive 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. These models can tow up to 9.300 pounds. When it comes to fuel economy, things are pretty typical for the class. You can count on about 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. These are pretty average numbers for the class, but still better compared to key rivals Chevy Tahoe and Suburban.

2020 Ford Expedition Release Date and Price
Considering that there are no bigger changes to come for the next year, we expect to see 2020 Ford Expedition sometime late in the year. Also, the price will remain pretty much the same, which means around 52.000 dollars for the base model.
