2020 Lexus RX350 Review, Specs, Interior, Price

One of the most iconic luxury SUVs is still doing pretty well on the market, despite the competition is getting tougher every year. The famous model has been around for more than two decades and it is one of the first luxury SUVs that ever came. The current generation has been around since 2015 and considering the model’s usual production cycle, two more years will pass before we see a redesign. Therefore, the 2020 Lexus RX350 is expected to carry on without more important changes.

This super-reliable crossover is now available in two versions, with three-row variant as well. Things are pretty familiar with this model, which means you can count on hi-end interior quality, reliable V6 engine and many of other great features. Of course, a hybrid model will be in the offer as well. Expect to see the new model sometime late in the year.

2020 Lexus RX350 Redesign

The 2020 Lexus RX350 will be one of the rare models in the company’s lineup that still rides on a previous-generation K platform. Even the corporal sibling Toyota Highlander is coming completely redesigned, with a new TNGA platform that provides significant improvements in driveability and many other aspects. In terms of the styling, the 2020 Lexus RX350 won’t feature any important change. It follows the brand’s latest design language, characterized by a lot of sharp edges, as well as by the famous spindle grille layout.

Last year, we saw an introduction of a new 3-row version. Naturally, the new variant is longer, despite the fact it features the same wheelbase. Overhangs are a little bit longer, while the roofline ends in a little bit different way. Still, the aesthetics are pretty familiar, especially at the front, where you won’t notice any notable difference. The upcoming model shouldn’t bring any notable novelty in terms of aesthetics.

Interior

Once again, there are no bigger changes to come for the 2020 Lexus RX350. The best we could see is a couple of new color schemes and standard features. Other than that, things are about to remain the same, which is not bad at all. This crossover features one of the finest cabins in the class. Typically for Lexus, a complete interior feature top-notch materials quality, while the dashboard looks very elegant.

Besides plenty of style and quality, this cabin is also very functional. There is plenty of space if the front row, while the seats are amazing. The same goes for the second row, while the third one is, typically for the class, pretty tight. In higher trims, you can get conveniences like leather upholstery; heated and ventilated front seats; heated, power-folding, and reclining second-row seats etc. Moreover, three-rows models are also available with second-row captain’s chairs.

When it comes to cargo capacity, two-row models are good for about 56.3 cubic feet, while versions with three rows are slightly better. However, the biggest complaint is not about the volume, but about the fact that seats don’t fall flat.

Tech and Safety Features

The 2020 RX350 could come with a couple of additions, but the current model is already pretty decent when it comes to standard tech goodies. It comes with an 8-inch Remote Touch display, as well as with things like Siri Eyes Free, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a nine-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio etc. Of course, there is much more in higher trims, where you can get things like a bigger 12.3-inch screen, navigation system, a head-up display, as well as on either 12- or 15-speaker premium sound system.

Despite the age, this crossover really shines in terms of safety features. All versions come equipped with things like a rearview camera, a pre-collision warning and braking system with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. That is definitely something that makes RX350 stand out from the crowd. In higher trims, you can also get systems like blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive headlights, and a surround-view parking camera.

2020 Lexus RX350 Engine

We have no doubt that the 2020 Lexus RX350 will continue with a well-known V6 engine under the hood. It is a 3.5-liter unit, which delivers around 295 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. Such numbers provide pretty good performances that would satisfy even more demanding drivers. An 8-speed automatic transmission works great and ensures a pretty smooth ride.

When it comes to fuel economy, the RX350 is great. You can count on around 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway, which are great numbers for the class. If you want something more efficient, check out RX450h.

2020 Lexus RX350 Release Date and Price

Considering that the 2020 Lexus RX350 is about to come without more important changes, we expect to see it sometime late in the year. The price shouldn’t change too much. The current model starts at around 44.000 dollars.
