The 2020 Lincoln Corsair is the latest addition to the lineup of this luxury carmaker. The famous company is in a huge rebuilding process and the whole lineup will be replaced soon. We’ve already seen several amazing brand-new models and this one is next in the line. Lincoln is abandoning the unpractical three-letter naming policy and now comes with less generic nameplates in the offer.

2020 Lincoln Corsair Design

The 2020 Lincoln Corsair is a brand-new model. It is a compact luxury crossover, so you may presume it shares a lot of parts with the new Escape. The Ford’s compact crossover is also coming completely redesigned and two models will share the platform, as well as many mechanical parts. However, the 2020 Lincoln Corsair is significantly different in all other aspects.

The first thing you’ll notice is completely new sheet metal. The new styling follows Lincoln’s new styling philosophy, which is characterized by a more conventional, more classical approach compared to previous-generation vehicles. Of course, you can easily notice that many details have been borrowed from the flagship Navigator, but the 2020 Lincoln Corsair also comes with a couple of distinctive details as well.

Interior

Lincoln finally has a compact crossover that really belongs to the premium segment. Unlike the MKC, which wasn’t very opulent on the inside, this one looks spectacular. You can easily notice a beautiful dashboard, which is full of long horizontal lines and clean shapes. The design is very classical, in a manner of vintage Lincoln cars, though there are several modern details that break this harmony. Of course, one of them is a large tablet-like touchscreen, which looks very elegant and fits this dashboard perfectly.

The overall quality is very good, pretty much on par with future rivals. Two spacious rows of seats is what you can count on with this SUV, as well as on a quite spacious cargo area. Also, there is a long list of standard equipment. This doesn’t just include tech goodies, but latest safety features as well.

Among them, some of the highlights are things like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. These are all parts of Lincoln Co-Pilot 360, which is a standard suite in all models. You can also opt for the Co-Pilot 360 Plut, which adds things like adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, automatic rear braking and active parking assist.

2020 Lincoln Corsair Engines

When it comes to the powertrain, you have two choices. Base models are equipped with a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 250 horsepower. Higher trims come with a 2.3-liter engine and all-wheel drive. This engine delivers around 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, which seems quite impressive for a compact crossover.

If you add to this Ford’s famous suspension engineering, there is no doubt that the 2020 Lincoln Corsair will be very fun to drive. Both engines come with 8-speed automatic transmission.
