2020 Nissan X-Trail Specs, Interior, Changes

If we look at Nissan’s SUV lineup, there are a whole plethora of models and many of them are getting quite old these days. One of them is the X-Trail. The current generation of this small crossover has been around 2013. Considering the company’s usual production cycle, this would mean that there is still a year or two before a complete overhaul. Therefore, we are pretty sure that the 2020 Nissan X-Trail will continue in the same way and that there won’t be bigger changes in the near future.

The upcoming model is about to continue with the same design, which has a lot in common with models like Rogue, Qashqai etc. The next year could bring a couple of new features, but the overall layout definitely won’t change. So, we expect to see 2020 Nissan X-Trail in a typical time of year, with no bigger changes in terms of price.

2020 Nissan X-Trail Design

In terms of base design characteristics, this crossover hasn’t changed too much since 2013. It still features pretty much same mechanics, while aesthetics have been updated for a bit. In terms of mechanics, this model rides on the company’s familiar CMF platform, just like Qashqai, Rogue and similar models. Therefore, the X-Trail comes with similar benefits and advantages over the competition, which particularly refers to the spacious interior and great overall practicality and functionality. On the other side, the 2020 Nissan X-Trail will pay the debt to its age. So, it definitely won’t be the most dynamic and driveable model in the class. Younger rivals seem far more athletic.

Visuall, this model still looks pretty attractive, despite the age. It has been updated recently and now follows the company’s design language almost entirely, including the newest version of the famous V-Motion grille. As we already mentioned, the best we could see for the next year are new color options. Other than that, things are about to remain untouched.

Interior

This crossover may be older compared to most rivals, but it definitely doesn’t lag behind the competition in terms of the interior quality. Despite the age, this cabin still looks very attractive and opulent. The quality of materials is mixed. There is a couple of areas with hard plastics, but all critical points are soft on touch and very stylish. The dashboard features nice clean shapes, while color schemes are pretty attractive.

Still, the thing we like most about this cabin is the level of comfort. This crossover is pretty generous when it comes to leg and headroom. Of course, this mostly refers to front seats, which are not just spacious but also extremely comfortable and supportive, definitely some of the bests in the class. The second row is also pretty comfortable, enough to accommodate adult passengers. Finally, the cargo area is decent as well.

Features

When it comes to standard equipment, the list could be expanded for a bit in the 2020 Nissan X-Trail. Still, we expect that the core will remain the same, especially if we consider that the current model already comes with all the essential, especially in terms of tech features. You can count on a touchscreen interface, Bluetooth, USB, as well as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio etc. Additionally, you can also get navigation, voice recognition and similar upgrades.

When it comes to safety, all models come standard with things like a rearview camera, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking. Optionally, you can get lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, rear automatic braking and similar things. All in all, a pretty decent amount of advanced systems.

2020 Nissan X-Trail Engines

Considering that this crossover is available on markets all around the world, it’s no wonder there are several engines in the offer. In Europe, this model comes with modern turbo-four units. One of them is a new 1.3-liter unit, which delivers around 160 horsepower. Also, there is a familiar 1.6-liter engine with around 165 horses.

Naturally, there are also diesel units in the offer. Two of them are available – a 1.6-liter unit with 130 and a powerful 2.0-liter unit which delivers around 175 horsepower.

In some other parts of the world, you can also find engines like a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder, which delivers around 140 horsepower.

2020 Nissan X-Trail Release Date and Price

Since there are no bigger changes planned for the next year, we presume that the 2020 Nissan X-Trail will come in a typical time of year, probably sometime in December. Of course, the exact date will differ from market to market, as well as the price. Depending on the market, base models can go from 25.000 28.000 dollars.

The current generation is expected to carry on for a year or two. After that, we can expect a completely new model, completely restyled and redesigned, with lots of new technologies and design solutions
