The luxurious mid-size crossover has been redesigned recently. There is a long list of novelties, which includes all kinds of improvements, starting from a new look, new technologies, better performances and much more. However, that doesn’t mean that the German carmaker is done with novelties. Moreover, the second production year will be equally exciting, as we are about to come to a completely new version in the offer. The 2020 Porsche Cayenne is about to get a new body style. Of course, we are talking about a coupe model, which will undergo some notable design changes. Of course, the focus in on the styling, as we are about to see a little bit different body style. Other than that, things shouldn’t be that different. We expect to see same mechanics, interior layout and overall performances.

2020 Porsche Cayenne Redesign
When it comes to base models, we won’t see any important change in terms of the exterior design. The recent redesign has brought a lot of them, starting from a new platform. Like all mid-size luxury crossovers from the VW Group, this one also rides on a new MLB Evo platform, so it’s no wonder it shares a lot of parts with models like VW Touareg, Audi Q7 etc. On the other side, the styling is Typical Porsche. The front end came with subtle changes only and, interestingly, there are more interesting tweaks at the back.
There will be even more of them on the new 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe. As you may presume, this one will come with a typical coupe-like body layout. In practice, this means a typical sloping roof design, which will bring that coupe flavor. Moreover, we will probably see additional work on the rear end, primarily on the hatch and taillights, which should resemble the iconic 911 even closer.
Interior
The interior layout of both versions will be generally the same. The recent redesign has brought a lot of improvements in terms of comfort and functionality, but there is also a new interior styling. The dashboard is rather simplistic, typically for the company. However, it looks very attractive, in a manner of classic sports cars. All materials feature hi-end quality, while seats are very comfortable and provide excellent support.

The rear seats are also very comfortable, with a lot of leg and headroom. Still, the new 2020 Porsche Cayenne Coupe will be a little bit different in this aspect. A sloping roof will surely have a bad effect on the headroom in the second row. Moreover, the cargo area will be even smaller, and an interesting fact is that the even standard models are quite tight in this aspect. The standard Cayenne features only 27 cubic feet behind rear seats, which is way below average for the class.
Tech and Safety Features
The core of the new Cayenne is a new 12.3-inch touch screen, which comes with the new software as well. The overall impression is that the new generation has been digitalized for a big portion, as there aren’t many physical buttons left. Besides the new screen, all models come with standard features like Bluetooth, five USB ports, Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a 10-speaker audio system, satellite radio, etc. As you go for higher trim levels, you get more and more standard equipment. So, you can also get things like a panoramic sunroof, quad-zone automatic climate control, a 14-speaker Bose stereo, or even a 21-speaker Burmester stereo.
Unfortunately, the Cayenne isn’t that generous in terms of safety. A rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors are the only standard features in base models. Fortunately, there is much more in higher trims, where you can get things like adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and many more.
2020 Porsche Cayenne Engines
Things under the hood are about to remain the same. Base models will continue with a familiar 3.0-liter V6, which delivers around 335 horsepower. Still, the Porsche’s 2.9-liter six-cylinder sees like a much better deal, as it delivers impressive 435 horsepower. The 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo will carry on with a 4.0-liter V8, which is good for about 550 horsepower.

Also, there are two highly-capable hybrid versions in the offer, with either 460 or 680 horsepower. All models come with 8-speed automatic transmission.
2020 Porsche Cayenne Release Date and Price
We expect to see the 2020 Porsche Cayenne sometime late in the year, base models should keep the same price, which currently starts at around 65.000 dollars. The new Coupe version will feature a little bit higher starting price.
