The fourth generation of this iconic SUV will have its premiere next month and production model should come as 2018 Lincoln Navigator. After last-year concept version of this legend, we can’t wait to see how production model will look like. This is a full-size luxury SUV, which is in production for more than 20 years and it is one of the best-known nameplates of Ford’s luxury brand. Original model came in 1997 and we have seen three generations so far. There big expectations from the upcoming model, especially if we consider that last-year concept came with some avant-garde design solutions. Some of these details might not find its way to the production model, but we still expect to see many extravagant things. The 2018 Navigator should have its premiere at the upcoming New York Auto Show.
2018 Lincoln Navigator redesign
As we already mentioned, next generation of this luxury SUV should come with many interesting things. We saw many amazing design solutions on the last-year concept. There some extravagant things like gullwing doors, stair-like steps etc. However, we doubt that these two features will be available on the production model. Simply, these things are too much expensive and with them, 2018 Lincoln Navigator couldn’t have a competitive price. When it is about other features, we expect to see the similar overall shape and design language. Interior will feature stylish design, similar to the concept’s. The cabin will be even more spacious, compared to the current model and we also expect to see even more hi-tech features in the offer.
2018 Lincoln Navigator engine
Although exact engine for the 2018 Lincoln Navigator is still unknown, we are pretty sure that it will feature some V6 unit instead of thirsty V8. Simply, those are demands of the market nowadays. It will probably be a familiar 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, which will undergo some serious updates. With these modifications, we expect that the max output will be over 400 horsepower and over 400 pound-feet of torque. It should come in pair with the company’s latest 10-speed automatic transmission, which had its debut in new F-150 Raptor. This combination will definitely provide not only excellent efficiency but also amazing drive experience.
2018 Lincoln Navigator release date and price
As we already mentioned, 2018 Lincoln Navigator should have its premiere next month at the New York Auto Show. It should come to the market somewhere in the second half of the year. The exact price will be known soon.
