2018 Mercedes GLC

We are pretty sure that 2018 Mercedes GLC will not feature bigger changes. This popular compact luxury crossover is present for about two years and there is really no need for some bigger modifications. It came as a successor of the familiar GLC model, which was in production between 2008 and 2015. The current model continues the evolution of this model, while the name is different due to the company’s new naming policy. The current version of this crossover is present since 2015. So, we are pretty sure that there is no need for some bigger modifications at the moment. The 2018 GLC will come with the familiar styling and pretty much same list of features.  We expect its arrival somewhere late in the year.

2018 Mercedes GLC front viewAs we already mentioned, the 2018 Mercedes GLC will continue without bigger changes. We will see a crossover with a familiar shape. Also, the list of features will remain pretty much the same. Even the base model will be extremely well equipped. It will come with things like 18-inch wheels, LED daytime running lights, adaptive suspension damping, dual-zone automatic climate control, adjustable drive settings, synthetic leather upholstery (MB-Tex), a 14-way power driver seat with memory functions. When it comes to technology features, there are things like rearview camera, a 7-inch infotainment display, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio, Mbrace Connect (includes smartphone app integration) and an eight-speaker sound system. The first one is the Premium package, which includes things like larger touchscreen, navigation, premium sound system etc. The other one is Sport package, which features bigger wheels and several mechanical tweaks.

When it comes to the powertrain, the 2018 Mercedes GLC continues with the same 2.0-liter gasoline engine, which comes in a pair with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It features max output of 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, which is enough for a 0-60 sprint in just about 6 seconds. Also, there is a hi-performance AMG version. This model features a 3.0-liter V6 engine, which is good for 362 horses and 384 pound-feet of torque. It also comes in a pair with 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2018 Mercedes GLC will come by the end of a year with the base price around 40.000 dollars. Main competitors will be models like BMX X3, Audi Q5, Lexus RX etc.
