After the last-year redesign, it is hard to believe that the 2019 GMC Acadia will receive some more important changes. The company definitely won’t change this vehicle much for the third year of production.
To remind you, the completely new, second generation came last year. We saw some significant changes in terms of base design characteristics. The company decided to downsize the new version, so it this is now a mid-size crossover. Besides smaller size, the new model comes with many improvements. There is a completely new platform, shared with the Cadillac XT5, which provided some significant weight savings, which eventually provided installation of smaller and more efficient engines.
Finally, the new model features a completely new, much more sophisticated interior design. All this indicates that the 2019 Acadia probably won’t feature more important changes, although we could see some new colors and new standard features in the offer.
2019 GMC Acadia design and possible changes
As we already mentioned, this model is still pretty fresh and 2019 GMC Acadia definitely will not feature more important changes. It will continue to ride on a familiar C1 platform, which is also in use for the Cadillac XT5. Moreover, these two models are pretty much the same in the mechanical aspect. In terms of styling, we believe that the current appearance will continue for another year or two, until the mid-cycle refresh. For the next year, we will probably see just one or two new colors in the offer.
The same thing is expected inside. The 2019 GMC Acadia will continue with the same interior design. A familiar dashboard layout could be eventually refreshed with few new details, but the most important change for the next year will be one or two new color schemes. Rest of the crossover will remain unchanged.
2019 GMC Acadia features
The 2019 GMC Acadia will continue with the same four trim levels in the offer. The base SL model comes with standard features like 17-inch wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, 7-inch touchscreen, six-speaker audio system etc. The next one is SLE, which adds LED daytime running lights, 18-inch wheels, roof rails, remote engine start, power liftgate, heated front seats etc.
The next one is the SLT. This version adds a whole bunch of new things, such as blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, 20-inch wheels, lane departure warning, forward collision warning etc.
Finally, there is a well-known Denali top-range trim. In this case, it includes standard features a familiar grille design, xenon lights, 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, a configurable virtual gauge display, ventilated front seats, and a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel.
2019 GMC Acadia engines
Engines will remain the same for the 2019 GMC Acadia. Base models will feature a familiar 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit, which is good for 194 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque and comes in a pair with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
On the other side, there is a bigger 3.6-liter V6, which delivers around 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. This engine also comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission. With this engine, you will get a pretty good acceleration numbers. For example, it needs just 6.3 seconds for a 0-60 sprint. Besides good performances, it also features pretty decent fuel economy. It goes around 18 mpg in the city and 25 mph on a highway.
2019 GMC Acadia release date and price
The 2019 GMC Acadia will come without bigger changes, so expect its arrival in late 2018. We also don’t expect changes in price. Base models will go around 30.000, while top-range models could go all away up to 50.000 dollars.
Competition in this segment is tough. There are models like Ford Edge, Nissan Murano, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento, Jeep Grand Cherokee and others.
