The new 2019 Isuzu MU-X three-row mid-size SUV will get the power from the new engine. A V-6 unit is the biggest refresh of the upcoming vehicle, which is using the body-on-frame platform. Truck-based crossover is very popular in the east, especially in Australia and other Pacific countries. The refresh under the hood will surprise all fans, as well as modifications outside and inside the crossover.
The Isuzu MU-X succeeds the MU-7 SUV. The number in its name shows how many occupants it can take. What makes this crossover different than others in the mid-size segment? Comfort and safety of all passengers are priorities. Furthermore, the 2019 Isuzu MU-X will be very potent with its famous turbo-diesel unit. Its highlight is the output of 430 Nm (317 pound-feet) of torque.
2019 Isuzu MU-X engine specs
So, what is under the bonnet of 2019 Isuzu MU-X and why it is so interesting? A new 3.0-liter turbo-diesel mill is very generous. Although the company didn’t release exact numbers for horsepower, we assume it will be close to 200 hp. On the other hand, torque level of 430 Nm is enough for an off-road drive in tough conditions. The MU-X SUV can tow up to three tones. So, this towing capacity covers boats and trailers of various size and weight.
Special tuning of suspension allows the SUV to perform almost the same on and off the road. Terrain conditions are not a problem. Also, the 2019 Isuzu MU-X solves easily any obstacle in bad weather circumstances. Thanks to the 4×4 Terrain Command feature, passengers in the cabin are not going to feel small bumps on the road.
Not only that this system improves comfort, but also the overall safety. Nevertheless, Isuzu is preparing various equipment to improve this segment. During the ANCAP testing, the SUV received the highest rating of 5 stars. Ever since 2013, the crossover maintained this result and upgraded its overall safety with new features and equipment.
