After seven years of production, the original Q3 has been redesigned last year. We are now waiting for hi-performance versions and the first one to come is the 2020 Audi SQ3. The new model has been spotted on the road and it looks like it is in the final stage of development. Therefore, we should see it later in the year. The new version will continue in the same manner as the original version, which would mean a lot of upgrades compared to the base model. This would include not just a more powerful engine, but also upgraded styling, as well as several mechanical modifications, on the chassis, suspension etc.
The 2020 Audi SQ3 will be able to deliver significantly better performances in all aspects. Still, we don’t expect from it to come much earlier than base models. The last quarter of the years seems most likely.
2020 Audi SQ3 Redesign
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Audi SQ3 will come with several significant upgrades. Still, the overall layout will remain pretty familiar. The new generation rides on a familiar MQB platform, which significantly improved ride quality. This version will come with additional improvements. We are about to see chassis upgrades. The first thing that comes to mind is a new suspension. With the new setup, the 2020 Audi SQ3 will feature lower ground clearance, which in practice means lower center of gravity, which is crucial for better cornering, acceleration, braking etc. Besides the new suspension setup, the new model should also come with new brakes and additional chassis reinforcement. All in all, a fine portion of upgrades.
2020 Audi SQ3 Styling
Of course, Audi will accentuate the sporty character of this performance version. Count on a fine portion of styling updates as well. The recent redesign has brought new styling. The overall shape has remained largely the same, while there is a new design language, heavily inspired by the larger Q5 model. The 2020 Audi SQ3 will come with additional styling details. Of course, most of them will be in a manner of sports cars, so count on a new body kit, which will include things like new bumpers, side skirts, and similar details. The most notable changes will be at the front, where the SQ3 is about to feature unique grille design, as well as the front bumper with larger air intakes and sharper overall approach. Also, count on bigger wheels, low-profile tires and similar upgrades. Of course, there is a chance to see some unique color options in the offer, though it seems more likely that such exclusive details will be left for the top-range RS Q3 model.
2020 Audi SQ3 Interior
Once again, the base layout shouldn’t be much different compared to standard models. We are about to see a familiar cabin design, which has been introduced last year. The cabin features great overall quality, while the dashboard looks far more attractive than before. One of the most notable details is a new touchscreen, which is now integrated into the dashboard. Of course, there is Audi’s familiar digital instrument cluster, known as Virtual Cockpit. Compared to standard models, the 2020 Audi SQ3 should come with a fine number of upgrades. The first thing that comes to mind is a new, flat-bottomed steering wheel, as well as sports seats with much more support. Also, count on a unique trimming, aluminum and other materials that will emphasize its sporty character. Of course, we expect to see a distinctive instrument cluster as well.
When it comes to standard features, we count on a full load. This means pretty much all of tech goodies that Audi has to offer, including the latest version of the infotainment system, various connectivity features, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, premium audio system and much more. Same goes for advanced safety systems and driver aids.
2020 Audi SQ3 Engine
Of course, the engine will be one of the most interesting things about this version. Latest reports suggest that the 2020 Audi SQ3 will stick to four cylinders. We are about to see a new version of a familiar 2.0-liter engine. It will come equipped with a turbocharger and with a max output of around 310 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It is practically the same engine that powers the S3 model. Such an amount of power promises pretty good performances. We estimate that the new 2020 Audi SQ3 will need between 4.5 and 5 seconds to get to 60 mph.
2020 Audi SQ3 Release Date and Price
At this point, we are still waiting to hear something from the officials about the price and launch date. The new 2020 Audi SQ3 is on its way, but it is still unclear whether it’s coming to North America or not. The previous version was available in Europe only, so we could see something similar to the new model too.
