2020 BMW X6 Specs
Under the hood of the 2020 BMW X6 will be a 3.0-liter turbo unit with the capability to produce 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. So, nothing changes compared to the current vehicle. Well, the new X6 will be lighter, so the fuel economy could get a boost. Whatsoever, it is not a drastic jump, but the improvement of 1-2 mpg. Combined, the next model will return around 22 mpg. The engine is paired with an eight-speed transmission. Interesting, this box is transferring power to rear wheels. In other, xDrive mode, it routes energy to all wheels.
The other option for the 2020 BMW X6 will be a V8 engine. A twin-turbo unit is delivering 445 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. It is a famous xDrive50i model. Its fuel economy is definitely not an advantage of the SUV since it is not making over 18 mpg combined. The same transmission as for the xDrive35i is a power router here.
2020 BMW X6 M Package
The 2020 BMW X6 is a performance-oriented version of the coupe SUV. Well, there are also visual upgrades as well, but the engine that cranks 570 horses is definitely a highlight. A 4.4-liter V8 is also creating 555 pound-feet of torque. The new version of the X6 M model will be faster than its predecessor. It is going to be able to sprint 0-60 mph in less than 4 seconds. Top speed is not going up. It will remain at 156 mph. Unfortunately, extra power means worse gas mileage. The 2020 BMW X6M will drop to 16 mpg combined. This will help BMW to be more competitive with Audi SQ7.
2020 BMW X6 Styling
The 2020 BMW X6 is using 19-inch wheels at its base models. Higher trims are using bigger rims, up to 21-inchers for M package. LED fog lights are standard. On the rear end, that are chrome exhaust tips. The vehicle is going to be 194 inches long, with a 115-inch wheelbase. Curb weight will drop to around 4500 pounds. That will make BMW X6 easier to drive and control. However, the SUV is not losing all other characteristics.
Interior
The huge downside of the 2020 BMW X6 is its body style. Being a coupe SUV might be attractive, but it harms interior comfort. Well, driver and co-pilot have enough room. But, taller persons on the rear seats will have problems with headroom. Also, there is not too much space for cargo. So, if you are looking for a family SUV, the X6 is not the one.
Besides that, everything else is at the highest level. Premium materials and the latest technology are going to be part of the vehicle. We already got used to seeing BMW X6 in such appearance. Whatsoever, if you want more, you can always count on the M package that can offer stunning features which are hard to find elsewhere.
2020 BMW X6 Release Date
The brand-new 2020 BMW X6 will come out in the first half of 2019. However, more updates will follow and the release date is probably late that year. Meanwhile, the company should unveil pricing and other options we will get with this SUV. Everything will start at $65,000. If you choose a V8 engine, you will have to spend at least $80k. If you are about to add an M badge, then the price goes up, probably close to $120,000.
