2020 Jaguar I Pace May Extend the Range

The famous British carmaker has finally made a breakthrough in the segment of electric cars with the new I Pace. The new crossover had its premiere last year and came to the market as the 2019-year models. It offers a full list of amazing features, excellent range, and performances. Also, it is one of the most attractive vehicles Jaguar made in a long time. All in all, there is no reason to expect more important changes for the second production year. The 2020 Jaguar I Pace is expected to carry on in the same way, at least when it comes to base design characteristics.

Still, we can hear rumors about a new, extended-range version, though we didn’t hear anything from the officials year. Keep in mind the current model already features a pretty great range, so it’s questionable if this version is even needed. In any case, expect to see 2020 Jaguar I Pace sometime late in the year.

As we already mentioned, base design characteristics definitely won’t change for the next year. The 2020 Jaguar I Pace is about to carry on with the same base design. We are talking about a compact crossover, which strong in pretty much all fields. Not only that it offers excellent performance and long range, but also comes with a design that seems quite practical and functional. The cabin is surprisingly spacious, as well as the cargo area.

On the other side, don’t expect any off-road potential. Although formally an SUV, the I Pace sits pretty close to the ground, so it rather feels like a hatchback or something like that. The profile is very sleek, so you can count on excellent aerodynamics, which has a highly positive impact on overall performances. In terms of aesthetics, we don’t expect any notable change for the next year.

Interior

You won’t find any important change inside the 2020 Jaguar I Pace either. This cabin is very comfortable. Despite being an electric compact SUV, it offers a fine amount of space in both row, so it can easily accommodate five adult passengers. The front seats are particularly comfortable, especially if you opt for available Windsor leather upholstery. When it comes to the driving position, you shouldn’t struggle to find a perfect position, especially if you pick an optional 18-way power-adjustable seat. Practically, the only major complaint goes for the rearward visibility, but that’s the thing that bothers most modern cars, especially that performance oriented.

On the other side, the cargo area is surprisingly spacious. You can count on about 25 cubic feet behind rear seats, while the overall capacity goes over 50 cubic feet. Also, it seems important to mention that a hands-free tailgate is standard in all but base models.

Features

A long list of standard equipment is another thing you can count on. The 2020 Jaguar I Pace could come with a couple of novelties, but things will generally remain the same. All models come with synthetic leather upholstery, as well as with things like a fixed panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, etc. Some of the notable upgrades are things like Winsdor leather, a premium surround sound system, suede headliner, etc

In terms of tech goodies, all models are equipped with the same dual-screen interface found in the Range Rover Velar. It’s not the most intuitive infotainment system on the market, but definitely has a lot of impressive functions. Navigation, as well as all kinds of connectivity features, are also standard, as well as multi-zone climate control.

When it comes to safety, all models come with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, parking sensors, cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a driver condition monitor, traffic sign recognition, etc. In higher trims, you can also get things like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, a head-up display, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, high-speed emergency braking, a 360-degree camera system and more.

This is an all-electric crossover. Considering that it is a hi-performance vehicle, it does not wonder that it comes with a large 90-kWh battery pack. The consequence is a curb weight of more than 4.800 pounds. However, that doesn’t prevent the I Pace from being very fast. It comes with a couple of 197-hp electric motors, each for one axle. So, with a total output of 394 horsepower, it’s no wonder that it easily compensates its heavyweight and that 0-60 time goes around 4.5 seconds.

Another impressive thing about this crossover is the range, which goes all away up to 234 miles.

2020 Jaguar I Pace Release Date and Price

We probably won’t see bigger changes, so the 2020 Jaguar I Pace should hit the market sometime late in the year. Base models should feature starting price of around 69.500 dollars.
