Despite the age, we are still waiting for some changes on this luxury SUV. Unfortunately, we will have to wait for a little bit more time, according to the latest reports, which suggest that the 2020 Lexus LX570 will come without notable changes. The brand’s flagship model has been around for more than a decade. During this long production cycle, we saw a couple of updates, but this is a design that dates from 2008.
Many rivals are significantly younger, but the LX still has some things to show. It is one of the rare models on the market that combines luxury and off-road performances in such a great way, but there is also a number of drawbacks. Some of them are poor fuel economy, outdated tech features, tight third row etc. In any case, these things won’t improve in the next year and we should see the 2020 Lexus LX570 sometime late in the year.

2020 Lexus LX570 Redesign
In terms of base layout, the 2020 Lexus LX570 will continue with the design that was originally presented eleven years ago. As you probably know, it shares a lot of things with the legendary Land Cruiser. The two models are practically the same under the skin. Same chassis and mechanics can be found in both models, including the engine. On the other side, each of them comes with its own, distinctive styling. Naturally, the LX is based on Lexus’ design language. Although not the latest version of the brand’s styling philosophy, there is a familiar spindle grille layout, though it looks a little bit rugged, compared to the rest of the lineup, due to its body-on-frame platform.
Compared to the Land Cruiser, there is one important difference. While in Toyota’s model bumpers are designed in such way to provide the best possible approach and departure angles, the LX’s bumpers are rather sportier. Therefore, the 2020 Lexus LX570 will also have a little bit less off-road potential than the Land Cruiser, though it will still be better than most competitors.
Interior
When it comes to interior design, there is really nothing to complain about. Some would say that the dashboard looks a little bit outdated, but we actually like its look. The lines still look attractive, as well as color schemes. On the other side, the quality of materials is spectacular, but that typical for Lexus. The seats are also amazing, as well as the rest of the cabin. Speaking of the seats, the first row offers impressive comfort, just like the second one. On the other side, the third row isn’t as spacious as you would expect from a full-size SUV and it’s best to leave it for kids.

The same complaint goes for the cargo capacity. Most rivals offer more. Another important thing to mention about the cargo is that seats fold to the side. This may reduce the volume, but seems highly beneficial, as you get a completely flat floor.
Tech and Safety
When it comes to tech features, the 2020 Lexus LX570 will continue with the infamous Remote Touch infotainment system. This kind of laptop-like navigation seems a little bit distracting and not so easy to use. Also, the infotainment systems look a little bit outdated, despite the huge tablet-like screen. Another drawback is the lack of latest smartphone integration goodies like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
On the other side, you can count on a long list of standard features, which includes things like navigation, a nine-speaker audio system, satellite radio, USB ports, Bluetooth and many more. In higher trims, you can also get things like wireless charging, a premium audio system, cooled center console, etc.
When it comes to safety, the 2020 Lexus LX570 will really stand out, just like it has been doing so far. Things like 360-degree camera system, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and forward collision warning with automatic braking are all standard, while you can also get a head-up display.

2020 Lexus LX570 Engine
Things under the hood are about to remain the same. The 2020 Lexus LX570 will continue with a well-known 5.7-liter V8, which is good for about 383 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque and comes with 8-speed automatic transmission. Such amount of power ensures pretty solid performances, while the max towing capacity goes up to 7.000 pounds. Unfortunately, you must count on poor fuel economy, which goes around 13 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.
2020 Lexus LX570 Release Date and Price
Since there are no changes to come, the 2020 Lexus LX570 is about to hit the market sometime late in the year. We don’t expect to see changes in terms of the price either. Base models should go around 86.000 dollars.
