The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is the newest addition to the lineup of this Japanese carmaker. It comes to fill a pretty small gap between subcompact CX-3 and compact CX-5 model. It is bigger and more comfortable than the company’s entry-level model but, more importantly, it comes with a completely new design.
The new crossover represents that latest design solutions and technologies from the brand. It has a lot in common with the recently launched Mazda 3 hatchback, both in terms of mechanics and aesthetics. Of course, there is enough place for distinctive details as well. The new model is about to hit the European market by the end of the year, while the North American version will arrive sometime in 2020.

2020 Mazda CX-30 Redesign
This crossover brings a lot of novelties to the company’s lineup. It is the latest model that comes as the company’s response to critics. Mazda crossovers are generally amazing vehicles, but most of them are pretty tight in terms of the second row and cargo area. However, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 is much more than just a bigger CX-3. If features a completely new design, based on the new Mazda 3. First of all, there is a new version of the famous SkyActive platform.
It brings improvements in many aspects, including handling, so the new model is even more impressive in this aspect. In terms of dimensions, the new crossover features around 105 inches in wheelbase. Other dimensions are also pretty similar to the new hatchback. In terms of styling, there is a lot of similarities as well. Front ends are very similar, with just minor differences. On the other side, the rear end seems more practical in this case, especially in terms of much thinner C-pillars. Typically for a crossover, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 also comes with all those plastic cladding.
Interior
On the inside, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 will have a lot to offer. The cabin design has a lot in common with the new Mazda 3. Moreover, the dashboard is practically the same. It is very attractive, both simple and elegant, while the overall level of craftsmanship is amazing. In terms of the interior quality, new Mazda models are definitely on par with premium brands.
Also, the amount of standard equipment is great. Of course, there are latest tech goodies, including the latest infotainment system that comes on an 8.8-inch screen, which is controlled by a rotary knob on the center console. The screen is positioned very well and looks very elegant, as do the climate controls below. Navigation, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, are standard features.

In terms of practicality and functionality, the 2020 Mazda CX-30 surpasses the new Mazda 3 and gets pretty close to the CX-5. We can definitely say this crossover can accommodate adult passengers in the back. The cargo volume isn’t spectacular, but seem quite decent for daily needs. You can count on about 15.1-inch cubic feet behind the second row.

North American models will come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while in other parts of the world a manual gearbox should be in the offer too.
