2020 Volvo XC60 T8, Release date, Hybrid, Price, Colors

In the segment of compact luxury crossovers, the XC60 stands out for many ways and that state will remain in the next year as well. Globally known for excellent safety scores, this Volvo SUV is far more than that. It is elegant and very luxurious. Upscale cabin and a long list of standard features are some of the things that characterize it. Moreover, there is a wide range of engines in the offer, while handling is super precise. Of course, there are a couple of drawbacks, but the 2020 Volvo XC60 will generally remain one of the best models in the class.

For the upcoming model, the Swedish manufacturer has prepared a new, hi-performance version, as well as a couple of subtle novelties. Other than that, things are pretty much the same, pretty much in all aspects. Therefore, the price also remains pretty much the same.

2020 Volvo XC60 Redesign

In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Volvo XC60 definitely won’t change. This is pretty much a typical compact crossover in terms of size. Mechanically, it rides on the company’s well-known SPA platform, which is used for pretty much all crossovers of the brand. It is light and efficiency and provides very good driving characteristics. The current, second-generation model has been around for less than two years. So, we don’t expect any notable styling change either.

The current model already looks very fresh and very attractive, so there is no need for updates at the moment. Of course, it is fitted to Volvo’s new design language, heavily inspired by the flagship XC90, which in practice means very elegant looks.

Interior

The interior of the 2020 Volvo XC60 also won’t feature any notable changes. This definitely isn’t a bad thing, as this crossover features one of the nicest cabins in the class. The first thing you’ll notice is that there is a lot of light inside and that the cabin looks very airy. Also, the dashboard is very stylish and full of hi-end materials. Of course, a large, vertically-positioned touchscreen dominates the center stack, while the front seats are very massive and supportive.

Also, you won’t have any trouble to find a perfect driving position, as 10-ways power-adjustable front seats are standard. The second row is also very generous in terms of space, while the cargo area is one of the biggest in the class. You can count on about 22.5 cubic feet behind rear seats. The overall capacity goes up to impressive 63.3 cubic feet.

Features

The 2020 Volvo XC60 could get a couple of novelties in terms of standard equipment, but the core will definitely remain the same. Therefore, base models will come standard with features like 18-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights and integrated roof-rails. On the inside, it will come with things like faux leather upholstery, aluminum interior trim, a panoramic sunroof, automatic dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming mirror, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, driver memory settings, etc. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-speaker audio system, two USB ports, satellite radio, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and Bluetooth are some of the tech goodies you can count on.

Of course, there is much more in higher trims, where you can also get navigation, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, etc.

Safety

Traditionally, Volvo models are some of the safest cars on the market and the 2020 Volvo XC60 won’t be an exception. All models will come standard with safety features like collision mitigation with active braking, automatic braking after a collision, active high-beam headlights, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, and a rearview camera. The XC60 can also scan the road ahead and alert drivers of intersections, cyclists, pedestrians, and large animals.

In higher trims, you can also get advanced systems like Pilot Assist, blind spot monitoring with steering assist, rear collision warning with braking, rear cross traffic alert, active park assist, front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, distance alert, a head-up display, etc.

Under the hood, the 2020 Volvo XC60 comes in a new hybrid version in the offer. It is a rather familiar system that combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and electric motors, for a total output of over 400 horses. Other than that, count on typical units. The lineup starts with a 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 250 horsepower. The same engine is available in a version that includes both turbo and supercharger. This version delivers pretty impressively 315 horsepower. All models are paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

2020 Volvo XC60 Release Date and Price
